
University of Education Winneba, Kumasi (UEW-K) selected to Host local edition of Hult Prize as students answer United Nation’s Challenge and go head-to-head for US$1M. UEW-K has been selected as one of the institutions to hold the campus quarter final event for the 2017/2018 allowing student leaders to organize their own localized version of Hult prize on campus using a turn-key tool kit and the support of dedicated staff at the Hult Prize Foundation.
A minimum of ten
teams consisting of 3-4 students (undergraduate, masters, PhD etc.) is required
to meet a standard event where these teams develop startups to address the
Presidential challenge announced by Former President Bill Clinton for
2017/2018.The winning team on campus will represent UEW-K at any of the
regional finals in United Kingdom, San Francisco, Dubai, Shanghai in March 2018
meeting schools like Harvard, MIT, Cambridge, Oxford and top university around
the globe. The best teams at the regional finals will compete at the Hult prize
global flagship competition in September 2018 at the United Nations
Headquarters in New York for USD1M. This will be a great opportunity for
students of UEW-K to develop skills in social and business entrepreneurial
environment which would be beneficial to them both on and out of campus.
In partnership
with the United Nations, the Hult Prize is hosting college and university
events around the world in search of the next game-changing start-up. Prince Osei Twumasi
as the Campus Director with his organizing team members will be leading
the Hult Prize at UEW-K initiative, and is
confident that his peers on campus have as good
as chance as anyone to go all the way and with this year’s Hult Prize.

and to believe in themselves. There is nothing else to it. Anyone can make 1m
USD. Everything started form nothing” the CAMPUS DIRECTOR added"
The winner of the
intra-campus event will automatically advance to compete in one of fifteen
regional finals happening around the world next March. One winning team from
each host city will then move onto a summer business incubator, where
participants will receive mentorship, advisory and strategic planning as they
create prototypes and set-up to launch their new social business. A final round
of competition will be hosted in September 2018, where the winning team to be
awarded the $1,000,000 prize.
Hult Prize at University of Education Winneba, Kumasi Campus is now
